About Donors

There are many reasons donors choose the Asian Pacific Fund. We understand that Asian donors might have personal interests in their own ethnic group, a single issue or important event. They like the simplicity of supporting the Asian community through the Asian Pacific Fund without having to go into a lot of detail.

We welcome getting acquainted to see if there is a way we can assist them in their efforts, whether by contributing to our programs, or customizing special gifts.

Example #1:  Gift to Support Staff Morale at a Local Agency

A donor couple wanted to support their favorite local agency with a grant to promote staff morale.  The donors knew that people who work full-time for nonprofit organizations often have lower salaries and very few fringe benefits.  With the help of the Asian Pacific Fund—and keeping the identity of the donors anonymous--a grant was developed to help the agency establish a fund that supported group activities to boost morale.  The agency also started a fund to give each employee an individual fund to pay for things like professional development or stress reduction programs.

Example #2:  Advice and Counsel for Grants to Local Agencies

Several donors have asked the Asian Pacific Fund for advice in distributing grants to agencies.  After working with the Fund staff to clarify the donors’ interests, the Fund can help the donors evaluate specific agencies and make their selections.

We are also grateful for corporate and foundation support.  Some corporations and foundations have specific goals when distributing their charitable resources, and they often develop partnerships with the Asian Pacific Fund because we work in all the Asian ethnic communities in the Bay Area and across a broad range of programs.
