Nomination and SelectionCriteria A candidate for the award must be Asian American, associated with a public or private college or university in the U.S., and be appointed at the level of dean, or a position of comparable responsibility or higher. Individuals affiliated with two-year colleges are not eligible for the award. In addition, the candidate should have demonstrated scholarly achievement and administrative experience, and be a well-regarded scholar recognized in his or her field. Candidates should value their American and Asian heritage (i.e., Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, Korean, Indian, Vietnamese, other South Asians and other Southeast Asians, Pacific Islanders, and other Asian ethnic groups). Consideration will also be given to the candidate’s dedication to excellence and commitment to providing access to academic institutions for a diverse population of students. Nomination Process and Deadlines The leadership of private and public academic institutions in the United States is invited to submit nominations, as are representatives from national higher education organizations involved in diversity and executive searches. Nominations are voluntary and can remain confidential. There is no self-nomination.
Selection Process A committee of higher education leaders will help guide the nomination and selection process. Committee members include: Dr. Horace Mitchell

Dr. Henry T. Yang
The committee will review the nominations and make recommendations to the Asian Pacific Fund Board for final selection.
