We place a high value on volunteer committees whose members are selected to guide our programs and services.
Audit Committee
The Audit Committee’s scope of responsibility and members are determined by the requirements of California State law. Our Audit Committee members are Jeff C. Nguyen, Esq., Partner, Manatt Phelps, & Phillips, and Richard Pon, CPA, Lautze & Lautze.
The members of our Professional Advisors Committee are Bay
Area accountants, estate planning attorneys, financial planners, investment
managers and trust officers who value the advice and services the Asian Pacific
Fund provides to donors and who, themselves, want to be connected to the Asian
community.
On an annual basis local agencies are invited to submit grant applications. They are evaluated by a grants committee of Asian professionals who work in foundations and government agencies and have experience in reviewing grant proposals, budgets and program evaluations. The committee members make recommendations to the Board of Directors. Please see grants section for more information.
Growing Up Asian in America is a popular student essay and art program that helps students understand and value their Asian heritage. The success of the program is partly due to the involvement of professionals from the ethnic and mainstream media, public relations, and public libraries who volunteer their time on the Growing Up Asian in America Advisory Committee.
The Asian Pacific Fund administers many scholarship
programs. Nearly all are supported by a single donor or donor family. Scholarship
recipients are selected by committees, who, in accordance with legal
requirements are qualified professionals. The donor can also be a member of the
scholarship committee.
