Golda was born in the Philippines and grew up in the Bay Area. She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in education from the University of California, Berkeley.
During her time at Cal, she served as a staff member for Pilipino Academic Student Services (PASS), a student group established to remedy the lack of representation among the University’s student population with respect to the growing Pilipino population in California. She was also an intern at the Multicultural Community Center and a research apprentice at the UC Berkeley Infant Studies Center under Professor Joseph J. Campos.
Golda currently volunteers for a free community health clinic that aims to reduce health disparities existing within the South of Market (SOMA) district of San Francisco.
